Wow! A massive and substantial hand wrought sterling silver and petrified wood bolo tie by Arizona silversmith Ray Graves. This wonderful piece has a huge piece of of petrified wood that has been cut across the grain. Beautiful and textural. Surrounded by a thick silver cage. Long braided leather tie that ends in hand wrought sterling tips. Clip on the back works well for moving the slide up and down as desired. Really an impressive piece from this hard to find maker.

Size: Bolo: 1 7/8" x 2 1/4" x 1/4"; Leather tie is 18 1/2" long from top to bottom (but not laid out end to end); Tips: 1 3/4"

Condition: Excellent; Stone has a couple of minor cracks, but the piece is very stabile

History: According to Christie Romero's Warman's Jewelry, Graves opened up shop in Scottsdale Arizona in 1959. The name Graves used on his jewelry, "Gra-Wun", is a combination of his last name and that of an early business partner. Graves was a studio artist of great renown, his shop closed in 2001
